A beautiful vintage mid to late 20th century pyramid shaped jewelry box with five drawers from South Sumatra, Palembang, Indonesia. Skillfully crafted out of teak and finished with red and gold lacquer this box was fashioned in the shape of a temple. The five drawers easily open and closed using the pierced brass finger pulls. The structure of the jewelry box is sound and ready for use. Some of the drawer bottoms have slight separation from wood shrinkage so another panel of wood has been added to provide a solid surface for placing jewelry. Overall measurements: 20.5"H x 13"Square Condition commensurate with age and use. This is an older piece that has endured humidity changes so the lacquer is flaking off in places. The box structure is sound.
