Vintage Staffordshire Cheese Dish in the Shape of a Cow's Head
A charming English glazed majolica porcelain Staffordshire covered cheese dish in the shape of a cow's head. The dish is triangular, accommodating a cheese wedge, with rounded corners and raised lip so the lid fits securely. The stunning cover depicts a large bull's head with a rope shaped handle. This style of cheese dish became popular in Victorian England in the 19th century. This appears to be a 20th century example. In very good vintage condition. A stunning centerpiece and certain to be a topic of conversation at your dinner party!
