An elegant pair of fluted, tall, weighted tin and brass mid-century modern candlesticks. "GB Mexico" marks on the bottom. Canadian artist Gene Byron (1910) lived and worked in Guanajuato, Mexico from 1958 until her death in 1987. She is known for her metalwork, particularly in candelabras, candlesticks and light fixtures. The Gene Byron House museum opened in Guanajuato in 1997.

In as found condition. Condition commensurate with age and use. Tin and brass have been lightly polished, leaving some patina. Note that one candlestick base is darker than the other, perhaps it is a different metal.
