A gorgeous, classic vintage 1980s Karges burl walnut dining table with three leaves. Note the stunning carved cabriole legs on pad feet. A ring of beading surrounds each leg toward the bottom, giving a distinctive accent. A scalloped detail runs along the perimeter of the table as well as the leaves. An thin line of inlay runs around the tabletop, delineating the burl perimeter from the tabletop interior, which is bookmatched walnut. Table without leaves measures 30"H x 71.5"L x 47.5"D, Each leaf measures 20" which extends the table to 131.5"L. One owner who purchased the table new from Karges in the 1980s. Lovingly cared for with very few smudges and scuffs. Natural crazing in the original lacquer evident at the corners, see last photo. The table glides open easily to insert up to three leaves which extend the table to 11' feet long! The flaw in this set is that the leaves were very rarely used and the table must have sat uncovered in a dining room with sunlight. The 6' table is therefore lighter than the three leaves, see photos. Included are the original pads for the table and 1 leaf, plus four placemats. More photos available upon request. Condition commensurate with age and use. Random smudges and small imperfections in the tabletop. The table has a runner system that glides smoothly out for insertion of leaves. A very strong, sturdy dining table ready for many years of use. Note that the table leaves are considerably darker than the table. Natural crazing in the lacquer at the tabletop corners is stable.
