A beautiful and functional European (perhaps French or German) heavily carved ebonized oak bookcase with five adjustable pine shelves. Likely a vintage bookcase made in the 1980s or 1990s from antique Renaissance revival furniture parts. The carving on the sidewalls is of leaves, fruits and lion heads; the carving on the crown is of scrollwork. The framework of this bookcase and the crown is constructed of old wood while the back panel is a modern piece of plywood. The interior has been painted a deep taupe color with a greenish hue which compliments the wood nicely.
