A beautiful and functional vintage English three section bookcase with 12 adjustable shelves. Notable are the doors with original glass and ellipse lattice mullions, which gives this bookcase such a distinctive, decorative presence. The interior back and sides were sanded and painted a pale blue, to update the bookcase for the 21st century. New brass key shaped door pulls have been added and blue tassels have been added. The doors open and close easily. Old locks are in place but there are currently no keys that work in the locks. Measurements 50.25"H x 64.25"W x 14"D The bookcase is constructed out of mahogany and stamped on the back "S & T This piece of furniture is made of solid mahogany". Presumably S&T is the furniture maker. Condition commensurate with age and use. The cabinet of this bookcase was in rough shape when it was found so it was stained and varnished. However there are still imperfections in the wood from age and use, most notably on the top of the bookcase where discolorations and old water rings are present. See photos.
