Elizabeth "Lisa" Balsie was a New York artist active in the early 1900s best known for her etched portraits of dogs. She was married to Albert Andrews 'Bert' Cobb (1869-1936), author of 'Portraits of Dogs' and 'Hunting Dogs'. Lisa Balsie's canine etchings were collected by Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Found in the original period frame. Cardboard backing was removed and replaced with an acid free board. Glass was cleaned and the etching with matting materials was put back in the original frame.
