A gorgeous antique mid 1800s English mahogany double sided partner's desk with tan leather top that is tooled and embossed with a gold shell and leaf motif. The antique mahogany has a beautiful patina. The desk top has three drawers on each side, offering an ample amount of storage space. The turned mahogany legs give this desk an elegant feel while offering plenty of leg space. Knee clearance (floor to bottom of the desk apron) is 24.5". A beautiful, old English piece that is exceptionally functional as well. The legs are solid, turned mahogany. The desk structure is pine with mahogany veneer. Drawers are comprised of pine and oak with the drawer fronts veneered in mahogany. The neoclassical style brass urn drawer ring pulls seem to be old replacements. The key escutcheons are surrounded in brass and the locks are intact, but a key is not included. Measures 30.5"H x 59.5"L x 36"D Condition commensurate with age and use. Random scratches and dinks in the wood overall. Small chips in the mahogany veneer that surrounds the leather due to 150+ years of use. Scratches in the leather, particularly on the one side of the desk that was used, see last photo. Abrasions on the gold embossing on the side of the desk that was used the most.
