A charming late 19th century English pine faux bois painted birds eye maple chest of drawers with decorative stringing and stenciling at the corners. The paint, turnip feet, and turned pine pull knobs are original to this 125+ year old piece. This chest of drawers offers ample storage with five drawers that glide easily. The old turned pine knobs have a gorgeous worn patina that is distinctive of antique English dressers of this period. Antique key holes are present, though the locks were removed at some point in time. There are no keys with this dresser.
Overall measurements 41.75"H x 36"W x 18.75"D
The original painted surface shows signs of wear and darkening in areas, as you would expect from a dresser of this age, most notably on the top and drawer fronts, see photos. Note the knots in the pine that were painted over but still show an outline, on the top and sides. The left side of the dresser has a stable split where the old boards were joined. The structure of this chest of drawers is strong and sound, ready for many years of use and enjoyment.
