A gorgeous and functional antique 19th century French provincial oak wardrobe cabinet that features carved designs on the doors and wire mesh windows that have been lined with reversible and removable blue stripe curtains. The interior features a large amount of storage with adjustable five shelves... excellent for storing clothing, linens, books or dishware. The brass hinges and key escutcheons are original to the piece. The old oak has a lovely rich patina with random small scratches and imperfections in the wood from age and use. The left door latches closed while the right door locks with a tasseled key. The sides of the wardrobe are paneled. The crown is removable. The cabinet stands on block feet. Measurements 85.5"H x 56"W x 17"D The interior shelves measure 49" x 12" This piece could be used in many different applications within a home... bedroom, dining room, living room or even a kitchen. The curtains are removable, if you wanted to display books or dishware and have them visible when the doors are closed. Currently pale blue and white striped curtains face out while blue, white and gray striped curtains are on the interior, but the curtains can be reversed. Condition commensurate with age and use.
