A stunning antique French art nouveau bronze sculpture of the personification of night (La Nuit) (woman sitting on a moon with a star crown) by Henri Louis Levasseur (1853-1934), signed. The sculpture sits on top of a square green onyx base mounted with a plaque engraved "Etoile de Berger Salon Des Beaux Arts 1894 par H. Levasseur". Measures 15"H x 6"W x 5"D Condition commensurate with age and use. Random small scratches. The top portion of the crescent moon is slightly loose where it joins the hip of the figure. There is a dent on the back of the woman's head, see last photo.
