A charming antique circa 1890 Eastern European, possibly Hungarian, baker's table that is perfect for modern use as a kitchen island. It stands 34" tall and could be used as is or top with a slab of quartz or marble to match your kitchen counters. The base is crafted out of old pine and has a single drawer with a brass knob for storage. Note the turned leges, sculpted cross stretchers and bottom center finial which gives this piece such character!
Measures 34"H x 42.75"W x 29.75"D
The table top is made of a hard wood, perhaps beechwood, and has been cleaned and refinished to make this piece usable in a modern kitchen. You will still need to use a cutting board for food prep but the top can be wiped down with a damp rag and moisture will not damage the wood.
Condition commensurate with age and use. Random scratches and imperfections on the wood. There is old, inactive wormhole damage in the stretchers of the base. Upon discovery, the top was coated with old wax and was sticky. Not suitable for kitchen use. The old wax was removed, the top lightly sanded and lightly coated with a polyurethane.
