A charming and functional antique circa 1900 Eastern European natural pine blanket chest. Beautiful dovetail construction is evident at the corners. Two drawers with old knobs at the bottom of the chest allow for storage without needing to open the top. Old key escutcheons are present but there is no key. Handles on the sides are replacements. An interior candle box with flip up lid acts as a support for the lid when it is open. The surface of the pine is waxed... just buff with a soft brush or an old t-shirt to increase the shine. The natural patina will develop and improve with age. Could be used at the foot of a bed, in an entryway or hallway, or as a coffee table. Measures 24.5"H x 36.5"W x 21.5"D Condition commensurate with age and use. This is an antique piece so random imperfections such as scratches and discolorations are to be expected but just add to the charm of this piece. The exterior has been waxed with Fiddes Supreme Wax in Antique Brown. Just buff with a soft brush or an old t-shirt to increase the shine.
