Antique Early 1800s Eastern European Pine Wardrobe Armoire With Original Paint
A stunning antique early to mid 1800s eastern European (Hungary or Romania or Czechia) pine wardrobe armoire with original paint in shades of blue, tan and deep red. A charming center medallion on the door is the initials of the recently married couple. Interior has a bar for hangers and pegs, offering ample storage as an entryway coat closet or in a bedroom for additional hanging space. Historic, beautiful and functional!
Door is held closed with a thumb latch at the top. When thumb latch is released the top of the door sits proud of the frame by about an inch. This allows you to open the door easily. The bottom left corner of the door sticks slightly in the frame. There is an intact keyhole but no key. Original hardware. Original construction allowed this armoire to be separated in two, vertically but it has now been fixed into a single cabinet.
