A charming and functional antique 1920s or 1930s wall mounted Dutch organizer for newspapers or magazines labeled with ceramic plaques of the days of the week, from top to bottom... Sunday, top (Zondag) thru Saturday, bottom right (Zaterdag). The backboard is made of wood and the brass rods seem to be adjustable. The ceramic plaques are charming though there are hairline cracks in five of them, though they seem to be stable. The brass is slightly tarnished with a lovely patina. Perhaps this organizer was used in a coffee shop, a reading room, a club or library... someplace that had reading materials for guests. Measures 28"H x 17"W x 5.5"D Condition commensurate with age and use. Minor imperfections in the wood. This is a sturdy piece that could be used for organizing mail, magazines or newspapers.
