Antique Czech Pine Locking Pie or Larder Cabinet
Antique Czech Pine Locking Pie or Larder Cabinet
A beautiful, rustic antique pine larder or pie cabinet cupboard that dates from the late 1800s in the Czech Republic. These cabinets were used in kitchens throughout eastern Europe, for food storage. It is in good condition for its age and has recently been waxed and buffed... the pine glows! The cabinet offers ample storage with four deep drawers that run vertically down the left hand side and a cupboard, with the door and original metal vent, on the right. The door swings easily on the original external hinges, meaning it will open fully - allowing easy access to the cupboard interior with two shelves. The shelved storage areas are 20 inches wide x 11 inches deep.
The door closes firmly and locks with an old key. The astragal of the door overlaps the right edge of the four doors, which locks access to the entire cabinet. Collected in the Czech Republic.
This piece lends a rustic farmhouse accent in almost any room of your home... kitchen, bar area, or in a bedroom. A truly old yet highly functional piece!

Tasseled key works and is removable if you choose to lock the entire cabinet. Waxed with Fiddes Supreme Wax in Antique Brown... just buff with and old t-shirt to remove any smudges. The beautiful wood glow increases with age and buffing!
