A stunning near pair (not a perfect match but close enough to use together) of antique Chinese elm side tables. This form is often called an alter table and is typically larger. This is a smaller version which is unusual and makes this near pair particularly charming. Curvilinear and floral carved wood forms decorate both tables. Old dark oxblood and deep burgundy lacquer finish is worn away in areas to show the beautiful natural grain of the elm. Table with the handle measures: 33.25 high x 19 wide x 21 deep Table with the drop pull measures: 33.5 high x 16.75 wide x 20.25 deep Wear commensurate with age and use. Lacquer is worn, especially on the table tops. Strong, sturdy construction. Scratches in the wood show the age and use of these pieces.
