A stunning and unique antique 19th century English Chinoiserie lacquer chair back settee with 20th century hand caning. Ornately embellished with antique gold Chinoiserie style decoration with figures and landscapes scenes. Queen Anne in style with cabriole legs and sweeping armrests gives this piece such an air of elegance. The black lacquer is worn and has losses, particularly in the areas that contain imagery on the backrests, but still retains an antique charm. The caning on the backrests and seat is tight and in good condition. The wood framework is also strong and sturdy. Seams where the wood was joined in the original construction is evident in the armrests and bears some old repairs. 42"H x 62.5"L x 22"D Included is a cushion that roughly fits the seat, though a bit small, see photos, but is good for protecting the seat.
