A charming antique pine Eastern European (likely Hungarian) long storage bench with skillfully painted floral and grain painted decoration. The paint is original to the bench and it is dated 1926 along the backrest. The bench shows signs of age and wear which adds to the age and appeal of this rustic European bench. In addition to it being beautiful, the bench offers ample storage and would be perfect in an entryway or hallway. Measures 37.5"H x 72"W x 22.5"D Condition commensurate with age and use. Extensive wear of the paint, through to the wood, on the bench seat, see photos. Random scratches and old inactive wormhole damage to the wood. A dowel stick (included) can be used to prop up the bench seat. The bench is structurally sound and ready for many years of use and enjoyment. Recently waxed with Fiddes Supreme wax in antique brown and buffed to a warm glow. If the bench starts to loose its shine just buff with an old t-shirt. This waxed finish gets better with age and use.
