A charming antique French early 20th century, perhaps 1920s, large cotton single curtain panel. Made of a soft cream colored cotton printed in warm pinks and browns.... a classic French stripe with flowers and flower baskets. This panels shows it's age with discolorations noted on the back side, but it does not interfere with the beauty of this textile. The curtain is comprised of 3 panels of 32"wide fabric, hand sewn at the top and bottom. The most notable losses are seen in the multicolored wool pom-pom trim that edges one side. Sections of pom-pom balls are missing. This trim could be replaced with modern trim for a more clean look but the panel is charming with the losses, giving it a shabby chic historic look, and could be used as is!
The overall panel measures 108" long x 98" wide which includes the pom-pom fringe.
The panel as is, is sewn gathered at the top with the top width measuring 60.5" wide.
This curtain panel is shown hanging from 1/4" diameter iron rod. If you wanted to hang the curtain from a larger diameter rod you would need to sew a larger pocket on the back side.
Condition commensurate with age and use. Sections of pom-pom fringe are missing. Minor discolorations in the fabric, noticeable on the back side. The cotton fabric itself is strong and stable, no holes are evident.
