Antique 1870s Redfield & Rice Silverplate Tea and Coffee Set
A beautiful antique 1870s Redfield & Rice silverplate tea and coffee set with creamer and lidded sugar bowl. Made by Refield & Rice (active from 1866-1872) after a Reed & Barton pattern. So many charming details such as acorn handle finials and monster mouth pouring spouts. In good condition, tested to hold liquids. Wear to the silverplate can be seen on one side of the teapot and a small amount of edging on the scalloped base is missing.
Set includes coffee pot with hinged lid, teapot with hinged lid, sugar bowl with separate lid, and creamer. Stamped "Design Patented Jan. 12 1858 Redfield & Rice 1919"
Coffee pot measures 12"H x 9.5"W x 6"D
Teapot measures 10.5"H x 9"W x 6"D
Sugar bowl measures 7.5"H x 7.5"W x 6"D
Creamer measures 7.25"H x 5.5"W x 4"D
In as found condition. Silver has been polished using Hagarty's Silver Foam A couple of areas on the teapot are still somewhat dark after polishing though overall this is not noticeable.. A 2" long portion of the edge of the foot on the teapot is missing, see last photo. At some point in time a repair was made to the acorn lid handle on the teapot, see second to last photo.
