A stunning Japanese antique early 1900s Meiji Era Kansai style cypress and cedar merchant's tansu chest with multiple doors and drawers. The buttery soft original waxed finish is a rich golden brown over the natural cyprus and cedar woods. Cabinets such as these were used for kitchenware and documents. All of the iron hardware is original and gorgeous. Drawers glide easily and doors slide beautifully. Measures 36"high x 33"wide x 14.5"deep Condition commensurate with age and use.
