A charming antique (late 1800s or early 1900s) rustic European pine chest of drawers dresser that has been distress painted red. Modern white porcelain knobs with a red floral motif were added for additional character. The top of the dresser was left natural wood. The entire piece is waxed with a finish that has a soft glow and buttery feel. The dresser sits on oversized bun feet.
Note the stable split on the left side between the pilaster and the casework due to wood shrinkage over time. It does not compromise the structural integrity of the piece.
Measures 37.5"H x 47"W x 27"D
Condition commensurate with age and use. Red paint appears to be modern, not original to the piece, in as found condition. The striping on each drawer is old paint. White porcelain knobs are modern replacements. Scratches and imperfections are notable in the wood from age and use, particularly in the top. See photos, additional photos available upon request. Fiddes Supreme Wax in Antique Brown gives this dresser a soft glow and a buttery feel. Just buff with and old t-shirt or brush to increase the shine.
